Affiliate Disclosure
StormPrepper is a reader-supported publication. That means some of the links in our articles are affiliate links: if you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you.
What this means in practice
- We participate in affiliate programs with companies that sell preparedness products — for example, portable power stations (EcoFlow, Jackery), emergency food storage suppliers, and general retailers like Amazon.
- When you buy through our links, the retailer pays us a percentage of the sale. You pay the same price you would have paid anyway.
- This revenue funds the journal: research, writing, and keeping the site free of banner ads.
What it does not change
- Recommendations are editorial. A commission never determines which products we recommend or how we rank them. We recommend what we believe is the right fit for the job.
- We disclose on the page. Any article containing affiliate links includes a clear disclosure at the top, like this one:
Disclosure: This article contains affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend.
Honesty about what we don't know
We don't own and physically test every product we write about — that's true of most publications, and we'd rather say so than pretend. When a recommendation is based on published specifications and reputable third-party testing rather than our own hands-on use, we say so in the article.
Questions
If you ever want to know whether a specific link is an affiliate link, ask us — contact page. We'd rather over-disclose.
